Guest Post by Ezra's Daddy: Ezra's footprints

Well, yesterday my new dog tag pendant came.  As you can see in the picture on the left, it features an engraving of Ezra's footprints, and his name on the bottom.  I ordered this necklace from a company called My Forever Child.  They specialize in remembrance jewelry for baby lost parents.

I haven't worn pendants in a long time, and I thought this was the best reason to start doing it again.  Now I have a tangible symbol of my love for my son that I can carry around wherever I go.  Nice!

When I ordered the pendant, I emailed the company a jpeg scan of Ezra's footprints from the hospital.  As you can see, my little boy has flat feet.  No arch support whatsoever.  Ultimately, I'm not sure whether he inherited them from his daddy, given that the men on both sides of his family have flat feet.  So he couldn't win.  But in the end, I'll take credit, or responsibility, for it!

When times are bad, and I find myself in a rough spot, or in the depths of whatever is bothering me, I think of my little peanut boy and those little feet.  He had lots of character and personality, I am sure, lots of laughs and happy days in store for us.

It's beautiful! I am planning o n getting one like it for myself. I've had the link up on my blog for a year and a half and I just haven't been able to do it. I don't know why.
But, truly, yours is stunning.

What lovely flat feet!

I had thought of getting one myself but also haven't got round to it yet.

Beautiful memory.

Ezra's footprints are adorable.

Gorgeous baby feet. Hope's second toe was bigger than her big toe, same as Simon, so that made him smile. Otherwise, she got most of her other looks and features from me. Simon still talks about the fact she had his feet.
Thanks for sharing this David.

I love it! I couldn't quite picture it when you described it to us this weekend. It's even better than I imagined. I love the idea of footprints, so you can take a walk with Ezra.

Beautiful, David. Those are some seriously cute feet. For some reason I thought about someone who once told me that they didn't get drafted because they had flat feet... :)

Hi Ezra's daddy!! I love that company. My mother bought me one from them. It's a heart with her foot prints, I have it on now, and wear it any time I need to feel her.
I'm so glad that you ordered one for yourself. Thank you for your 'guest' appearance!
Still sending my love...Lindsay

Very cool pendant. We had glass ornaments made with Baker's footprints etched in them by a company in Maine. We gave them to family for Christmas and I loved seeing them on everyone's trees.

My husband and I joke that Baker would have been a barefoot water skier given the size of his feet. They were huge.

I have a pendant from them too. I also found a person via Etsy that does personalized photo pendants, I had some made for my family for Christmas.

Ezra has very cute feet! You'll have many people compliment you on your pendant and those cute feet, which I find is a great way to talk about my son and keep his memory alive.

He is beautiful. I too lost my son to placental abruption only at 21 weeks. They are truly precious.
